Surfing the wind

I visited a state park after work tonight because there have been a lot of good migrating shorebirds reported at some temporary wetlands. Well, the birds weren't there but there were plenty of windsurfers so I worked with what I had...

Nikon D300s 300 f4 HH from car
f/4.5
1/1250s
ISO 640

Cropped to 78%, leveled horizon and made adjustments in ACR in CS5 on 27" iMac

I really like having the bridge off in the distance as a reference point. I also really like the warm tones in the sky. Nice capture.

Luke, this is a gorgeous windsurfing shot. I love the beautiful pastel color in the sky that also shows up in the water highlights. The subtle bridge in the background nicely allows us to see the surrounding environment without taking any attention away from the windsurfer. :toast:

Really nice soft light, beautiful silhouette on the horizon, and dynamiic action and textural elements in the foreground. Well composed and shot.
