This sunrise did not last near long enough. Maybe 5 minutes at the most. But, pretty impressive while it stayed.
2 exposure manual blend,
Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,
Morris

Hi Morris, this is lovely shot. My only neat would be that the blend is kind of visible in the trees - dark areas. Maybe you want to try to re-fine your blend/mask area.

Wonderful color. I really like the way you've connected the horizontal layers of the comp with the vertical elements of the wildflowers, trees, and the bands of reflected color on the water.

Thanks Pavel. I went back and checked my tiff file at 100% and see no evidence of the blend. It appears seamless on my monitor, so I'll be interested to see what others may say.

I think the processing looks awesome Morris. The spacing in your comp works well. I can see what Pavel is talking about, but it could be an optical illusion created by the clouds and mountains. Anyways, I don't think it is a big deal. Outstanding depth of field - did you blend for it too? Overall, fantastic work.

Thanks, Craig.
Thanks, Michael. I wonder if compression is doing a little something to it? And no, I just blended for exposure. It was f/16 in both blended shots. I actually missed the hyper-focal by just a touch and had to crop a small portion of the bottom.

Quite a complex arrangement here, but it works well. Maybe you could pull out more detail from the taller trees on the right side. Nice one!

Wonderful color, Morris! Strong throughout with
the flowers in the FG, the sunrise reflection in
the MG, and the sky in the BG. I should think
that this would print nicely.

What a place to stay and shoot. Processing looks spot on and the sky color is a fine compliment to this ruggedly beautiful landscape. I do wish the fg flower bunch was included (bottom part). Thats being picky and you did a fine job.
Thanks for sharing this light

Hmm, my initial reaction was that this is real pretty, some beautiful reflections from the sky, and i like the fg flowers too. The blend looks pretty good to me. If i put on my super-critical hat (i always keep it handy...) i have to say that im not sure the whole is as good as the sum of the parts; the flowers, trees, lake and sky kind of pull me in different directions and dont really flow that well together the way they ideally should--but no photo is perfect, and this one is pretty darn nice!

Light looks good, especially the reflection. Rock and bare area of gravel in foreground feel a bit distracting to me as there is plenty going on in the rest of the scene.

Thanks everyone.
Dorin, I do have more detail in the trees, but posting here always seems to increase contrast from what I have on my monitor otherwise.
Anthony, I hate to chop off flowers, but my crop to remove the oof bottom I missed at hyperfocal made me do it. Anymore, and I just get the next bunch.
Stan, you know I rely on you to give it to me straight. And I agree completely. I had set up initially facing east at a different spot. This is looking north, and the break in the clouds allowed the color to come through only there. So, I had to hurry the comp, all the while trying to include sky, mountains, reflection color, and foreground. Well, I tried.
Tony, see above.

Beautiful light Morris. You captured this fleeting moment well. Your processing is great here and the blend is undetectable to my eye.

Very nice Morris. This has many elements that are all facinating to ponder. I like the detail in the flowers, as well as the layers of color in the water and sky. On my monitor there is no notion that it blended. Beautiful scene captured skillfully.

Sweet shot Morris. The color of the flowers is so intense, and complements the reflected color so well. Blend looks fine to me.

Great comp Morris, I like comps like this that are complex. The blend looks pretty good. I can see a little something in the upper right corner-maybe it's slightly dark but it's minor.

Yeah, I am in agreement with the Stan! A lot nice stuff here, and a decent comp too. The fact that you were "hurried" and the light/ color didn't pop out where you were hoping for is noticeable. I guess that just means this is nice but not quite up to your usual home runs. I actually wish I was able to improvise this effectively.

Really nice Morris, this has a pretty complex comp, but overall it works for me. Their is a lot going on in this image, and you can find things to enjoy throughout the layers of the comp. I think the blend looks good. Nice work.

Very nice work Morris! I like complicated scenes like this...of course it would be better big so you can explore, but still, well put together.

A superb capture of an amazing scene, Morris. I think the double exposure really paid off by keeping the detail and colors in the sunset while still saving all of the pleasing scenery in front.
