A scene in Meadowdale County Park, Snohomish County, Washington. This park is five minutes from our home. The park is a mixed coastal woodland in a ravine the runs down to a beach along the Puget Sound with big leaf maple, Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, cedar, and alders. Canon Eos 5DMk2, 0.5 sec @ f/14; 80mm; ISO 200;; 70-200mm f/2.8L; tripod; cable release. Thanks, in advance, for looking and commenting.

Craig, it looks and sounds like a Meadowdale is a wonderful county park. I love the northwest. You truly live in God's country. The light in this image is very nice.

Well this certainly isn't Simi Valley. Nice image and this really makes we want to get back up to the north coast.

There is a spot near here at Fort Columbia that looks just like this. Those maples should be turning yellow pretty soon if the leaves don't freeze off or blow away. Very nice capture of the essence of the place.

Craig, This is very well balanced between the strong verticals of the trunks and the random green leaves. Looks like a lovely place for some peace and quiet.

I think that the simplicity of the image makes this particularly appealing. This could be any, beautiful wooded park - and I think that makes it feel a little bit personal for each of us. For me, this is the beauty of the little woods behind my home, where my children play. Or the woods I played in myself when I was a child. Each person's perception will be a bit different, but we can all relate to the feeling of being in such a beautiful place. That makes this image that much more effective. Very nice, Craig!
