Taken at a large pond just after a turtle dived under the surface, hence the ripples on a windless day. Shot with a Canon 30d, f9, 160.

Lucy,
I really like the idea and attempt at this abstract. The ripples and brilliant greens of the reflection are really nice. What's killing it for me is the bright patch at the lower right. It just sucks the eye away from all the interesting patterns and color that is what captured your attention. You know what I think you could do is a considerable crop. I think if you cropped this so the main bright patch was eliminated and came in from the left, ultimately aiming for a final square presentation. I think that could work and actually bring more emphasis to the ripples and abstract nature of this scene. What do you think?

Hi Lucy
I agree with Lon about the bright patch on the lower right corner. With a tighter framing I think I would really like an abstract showing those kryptonite green ripples.
I would probably remove the top part too. I think its a very nice concept that just needs even more abstraction.

Agree with the crop suggestions, though when I take off some everything changes and I have to completely recompose. But I'll get there. The consensus of feedback suggests my primary editing focus for awhile is to crop my photographs more tightly. Thanks for the feedback.
