Great Blue Heron Preen

Great Blue Heron preening on a branch over a lake. Took this image a couple of days ago. The blue at the bottom is water and in the background are distant trees. Nikon D300s with 300mm f2.8 lens with 1.4tc. ISO-320, f 5.6, Shutter 1/1250. Thanks for looking critique welcomed. Ray

Wonderful, peaceful image. Nice color palette of similar colors that compliment each other well. Nice detail on the feathers and head. Not a pose I normally think of when I think of a GBH but I like it a lot.

Boy Ray, this is a winner for me. I like the way you captured this Heron with side light and the dark background really shows off the bird. I like the gray band behind the perch also.

The soft lighting in this image is just wonderful, especially on the head, and the dark background really helps to show off the Heron. There's not a thing I would change. Very nice.
