Extertion Point
by Michael J Greene,
This was a scene taken during my trip to Colorado a couple of months back. My tent was down beneath the lake and I had to huff it up here four times before I finally got the light I was looking for. While it doesn't seem like much - at 12,000 plus feet it was taxing.
As a side note, I recently posted a blog rating the states I like best for landscape photography. While I know some of you aren't into rankings, I find it an interesting topic of discussion.

composition it divided into thirds and is strong from front to back.
Your hiking and camping was worth it, im my opinion.

I wonder if a comp closer to the flowers would have worked out?

Can't help but repeat the word "dappled." but that dappled light from the passing clouds really makes this scene work. And that's despite the vibrant color - and for me both the greens and the blue is just a little bit over - but that's just me. This is a beautiful mountain landscape. Great comp with the foreground flowers and the little gully leading the eye down and to the rest of this wonderful alpine setting.
