Stiff Gentians (Gentianella quinquefolia) Lake in the Hills Fen

These gentian flowers are very tiny. Each bloom is about the size of my index fingernail.

This is a seven image stack at f/8 aligned and blended with PS CS 4. I altered the masks to get the maximum blur on the background.

Nikon D700; Nikkor 200mm; 1/500s -0.67; @f/8, ISO 200, tripod

Comments and criticisms always welcome.

Good stack and nice processing. the image feels a bit dark to me, but that's a subjective call.

David, Shows up with the right brightness on my monitor. Great work with altering the masks to get that fine looking background on the right. I'd not have guessed this was stacked. I have seen these flowers so I can relate to these better.

Beautiful example of the effectiveness and utility of stacked images David. I like your processing very much as well as the image overall. I also find the mood of this appealing.

David:
Excellent stack and I like how the bg tends to support the fg nicely. Brightness is fine on my monitor.

Wish the intruding leaf from the left edge was blurred some or not so dark.
