Sibling Love

I watched these otters as they wrestled, grabbed and dunked each other, and then they decided to show a little love by floating around, one holding the other.
The water was murky and the light harsh, but thinking the cuteness factor warranted a little work, I toned it down in pp as best I could and posted.

Wayne, I had to look and look and look to figure out what was happening...LOL. The second set of teeth really through me off! I think this is very cute. I saw 5 playing a month ago up in Teton NP, but they were on the other side of the snake river and no access to get to them. Glad you found some...these guys are a blast to watch.

Hi Wayne,

A very endearing and "cuddly" sort of image! Perhaps the harsh lighting does detract a little, but overall I think you handled it quite well during processing. To my thinking the single thing that would really elevate this shot even more is something that was completely out of your control - the otter on the right giving you an eye to work with! But even without this the image is pleasing to look at as posted.

Cheers...

Brad

A very cute and special image Wayne. I like the textures and colors in the water as well. In the larger version it does look as if the blacks under the head are clipped, taking the jpeg into PS confirmed that. Perhaps you can revert to the RAW file and still fix this.

Vincent, yes the blacks under the head are clipped a bit. But when you take a compressed image back into ps, the clipping shows as even more pronounced than in the original.
