I found these growing in a butterfly garden near my home. With late afternoon lighting, I tried a low angle to capture the flowers without leaves in the picture.

The shot shown is as captured, no crop. No Photoshop except to resize.

Canon 7d, 100-400mm @ 400mm. f10, 1/320 sec, -1 stop. Monopod

C&C appreciated.

Well, I am a big fan of cosmos as evidenced by the five cosmos images I've posted over the last month. I think they are among the most photogenic flowers. So, I like this right off the bat. I like the the sharp main subject with the oof twin, the sort of grainy look to this, and the look of the colorful cosmos against the desaturated BG. I think that a little more room at the bottom would have been preferable, and I wouldn't mind seeing a version of this that's a little brighter.

I like the echoed flower and the smokey bokeh but a little more room on the botton showing the entire bloom would improve this I think. Also seems a little dark.

I like the mood of this Neven, being a fan of the dark side and all. I agree with the others about preferring a little more room at the bottom so the bloom isn't clipped and I might also prefer a crop from one or both sides to better emphasized the vertical nature of the composition. Good looking image as posted.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I can brighten it a bit as I didn't do anything to this shot except resizing. I found this shot after i posted. I did a bit of work to it, slight sharpen, brighten the midtones and sbout 15% crop.

Thanks again for looking!!
