Its that time again. The leaves this time of year at least make a mundane shot a little more interesting.

I agree the leaves make this shot more interesting. A very nice capture John, I'd wish for a bit more eye contact. :toast:

Hardly a mundane shot, John. I like the wet plumage-not a condition I'm used to seeing for a Nuthatch. The colored leaves are a very nice touch. It would have been nice if it had given you a bit of a head turn, but it works this way.

I really like this John, great detail in the wet plumage, and as you stated the leaves are a nice bonus.
I Don't think I've ever seen a nuthatch in water before.

I like this a lot John. The colors of the leaves do make this shot for me as does the water. Sometimes I like the bird looking away and in their own world. So, this works for me.

Nice splash of colors really adds to the image and good detail on the wet nuthatch, way to go.

Different look at a Nuthatch. I like it very much. I enjoy the inclusion of the leaves.

Love those brightly colored autumn leaves John, they frame the bird beautifully.
Great exposure and sharp details, it's well composed.
Lovely season specific image :toast:

I don't recall ever seeing a Red-breasted Nuthatch in water before. Good capture. Very nice composition and color palette. The bird is nicely sharp, especially evident in the larger post. I'd wish for a bit more of a head turn, but you did very well with what the bird gave you.
