What do you see?

The shape of the orange sandstone caught my eye as I wandered over the tafoni along the coast. Then as I studied it further there on the beach, the textures of the surrounding stone became even more fascinating. I am still not sure what I see in it, but maybe soon. Interested to read what all of you see.

4x5, Nikon 150mm f/5.6, set at f32.3 for 2 sec on Fuji Provia 100F. Processed PS CS3 with TK masks.

Inspiration: Tony Kuyper

Thanks you two!

A beautiful image, Youssef. Fabulous color and texture. I see a camel in the desert at sunset.

Fantastic color and texture Youssef! I see the Loch Ness Monster but that is just because I did not see Nessie when I was in Scotland last week. Really, I love the color and outlined features with rim light.

I see a flying dragon. I absolutely love these type of scenes, Youssef. The light blue rim around the golden rock is making this one extra special. Superb!

A nice abstract. And it looks kind of like a satellite image to me.

Beautiful, Youssef! I might consider vignetting the top corners a little, but very minor suggestion. Real sweet.

Got way behind in seeing the new posts on NPN, Youssef, and ... SURPRISE! . . . this was my first click. Needless to say, I like this as I can relate to it. Wonderfully strong colors and detail, and the intense blue surrounding the "dragon" creates a very 3D effect here. Wonder if the original looks as bland as mine do sometimes:confused: Film probably provides more pop than RAW does. Regardless, I really like the way you've developed this.

Great picture, Youssef. The varition in color and the strong contrast works well here. The overall abstract nature is very much to my liking, especially since I am drawn to these subjects.

Youssef,

Great vision - again. Another wonderful closeup found and crafted. I could almost go with the same precious metals analogy as the last time; certainly a puddle of gold could be used. My only small nit is that I wish there was just a skosh more room on the left to give that leading edge of golden formation a little more breathing room. But that's minor. Great eye.

@Tony - I would say yes probably just as bland in this case. The transparency has all the colors but not as vivid or contrasty. The golden shape is what attracted me initially but the hints of the blue in the surrounding stone is what got me to make the photo. Then in processing it was the texture above the golden shape that drove the processing decisions to accentuate those marvelous textures. Thanks for the feedback.

@Lon - I too wished I had reconsidered the space on the left side. Thanks for the comment.

This is fabulous, Youssef; that warm glow and the amazing pattern and textures makes this truly stunning. The luminosity is fantastic. Love it.

I like it--especially the strong complimentary colors. I see Snoopy in the upper rrhc--looking down diagonally

Cool shot. Reminiscent for me of some of the more far-out Hubble images.
