The Sprinter

Another of the Sanderling images I captured a few weeks ago. These guys were fun to watch sprinting the beach as the waves moved up and receded with the tide.

I shot this handheld on a knee as the sun finally burned thru the overcast.

Thanks for looking.

I love this one. The running is wonderful, and the detail in this is so good. Great catch light, and it looks to me like just a slight head turn. Wonderful image.

Great capture! Love the catchlight in the eye, and I like the reflection. The only nit might be that oof rock to the right of the reflection...but that's really minor, very well done!

Wonderful pose and exposure...you did really well capturing the personality of this bird. You actually got him with both feet off the ground! Sharon

I just came back to this again...am adding EXCELLENT! I love this shot.

Very nice. Tough subjects since they are so fast and erratic in movement. This captures their essence.

Great shot, well exposed and it's hard to dislike these little runarounds ! The pose with the feet of the ground is simply priceless !
Only thing is the diagonal line behind the bird - which would be worth considering to clone out if you don't have a problem with such an action.. That all said, it's in short excellent :toast: , Hans

You really timed this perfectly, Charles. I love getting both feet in the air and the nice head turn.

Great light, pose, and detail. I think the rock adds interest. Seems to need a small bit of CW rotation to line up the eyes and shore.
Very nice image!

I like this very much Chuck. The running bird is sharp, great striding pose with both feet off the sand and you even caught the bird apparently looking directly at you while running, which I like very much. Excellent.

Nice stride in the bird. I've attempted these a number of times, but they are always moving too fast.

Q. How can you tell its a Sanderling? A. Because it is running.
Well captured Charles.
