Tetons Under The Stars

Please view large for more detail! This was taken two weeks ago 90 minutes before sunrise at the edge of the southern finger of Leigh Lake in the Grand Tetons. This is one image (no HDR). It was a gorgeous night with small puffy clouds moving very quickly. The clouds blowing off the top of Grand Teton peak were really cool. The moon was about 1/2 full and straight up in the sky.

I started shooting from several locations around 4 am & didn't quit until sun up. It was a gorgeous night! I considered cropping out the lake for a bit more drama & a pano, but decided I liked the inclusion of the reflection.

One definitely needs to view it larger! Thanks for posting that too.
Lovely composition and the cloud movement is sublime!

Love that sky! Good choice of keeping the reflection. The large version looks super three-dimensional. You might try cropping a bit off the bottom.

Greetings Wick - I was thinking about your crop idea. It would be an improvement for me as the interest is really in the top half. Reflection looks a bit muddy. Nice to get it in one shot!

Definitely like the cloud action and the sky, coupled with the reflection. Dont like the water in darker areas. For me the crop to the square format (remove the right) seems to work.

I think this is really well done Wick. The sky looks so pretty I could see cropping out a good bit of the reflection.
