Harebell Duo

I was out one morning look for some compositions in Glacier National Park when I stumbled upon this Harebell. I realize that more DOF would have helped here, but given the conditions, this is what I managed to capture. I actually have developed a certain fondness for the shallow DOF in this image.

5D Mark II
f/2.8 macro @ 2.8
ISO 100

I agree with you Jonathan. The shallow dof works for me here too and I like the mood. I might clone out the hint of a small stem near the upper center border. A very fine image for my tastes.

I like it! I found these, too, last week, but didn't know their name. I like the shallow DOF also.

The selection of these two flowers makes for a lovely image, Jonathan. beautifully composed. If I am honest I would probably prefer to have the front petals sharp, had it been possible, and maybe the highlights there toned down just a touch for more detail. But those are minor points and I guess subjective; my chief impression is of a real feeling for the harebell in its delicacy and rich colouring.
