Next in my series of Goshawks and chicks -
These 2 chicks have just been banded and returned to the nest, and are warily watching the guy on the tree and those on the ground.

Borrowed Canon 60D, I think
500mm
Taken from adjacent tree
Large crop

Sandy, I just told my wife to look at your image. I love the "Grumpy old Men" look here. Were you up in the tree also? lol. Getting great shots with the Canon. Another lol.

Two bad boys, still seriously annoyed by the indignity of it all. Well captured. I wonder if you could lighten it just a bit?

I was hoping you'd do a small series on these Sandy. Would have loved to get a picture of you and the researcher up in the tree. Harry mentions the grumpy old men look and he's right on with that. Good sharpness considering the equiptment used. :jump: Of course just kidding. Better get pictures of these guys now because they will probably be very leery of people in the future. Look forward to more. Is this in the Bay area??

A great shot Sandy. I too might lighten this image a bit as it appears rather dark on my monitor. Nice eye level look and overall comp. What a great opportunity

I love the position of the two here Sandy, almost as though they're watching each others' back side. With the great captures you've recently made on borrowed equipment I'm wondering if you're considering switching over to the dark side? Just kidding of course, I'm sure this was such a great thrill for you-very nicely captured.

Chuck - I don't think so! My forgetting extra batteries and borrowing a Canon does not justify deteriorating down to all-Canon equipment.

Love their poses, guess I'd be wary too, nice work Sandy.
