Father Winter Awaits

by Ken Smith

Gallery: FloraPosted October 9, 201193 views10 comments
In the URC is a submerged leaf...that looks like a face...when viewed with an ample imagination and blunt vision. I call him Father Winter...he watches the leaves fall... sink...and melt. Then it is his turn, he reaches upward to darken. Blotting out the last colors of summer.

Nikon 70-200 with circular polarizer.

Love this Ken. Strong composition, excellent detail and textures. Of course you know the darkness and the mood appeal to me here, as well as the narrative.

Very artistic composition. The detail in the leaf is great. Very well seen and photographed.

Ken:
A very strong image, especially the reflection of clouds in the dark water. The half submerged leaf with it strong texture and color provides good contract with the smooth dark water. :toast:

Ken, what hits me first is the immense space created from the leaf in the front to the reflected clouds in the sky, in witch the leaf is merged.. The photographic quality of the capture and the editing is perfect, as usual.
Cheers.

Great shot Ken. I wouldn't have noticed the face if you hadn't pointed it out but it really does look like "old man winter". the large version shows it clearly. Great eye and beautiful capture as usual. :toast:
