Aerial Tree Ferns/Repost

November from the dizzy heights of Australia's Otway Fly. I've sharpened, increased contrast and tried to crop to delete several orange lichen covered branches that I thought distracted but did add scale. I wonder about increased contrast as I think the image is now less unified.

I like the image, but it's kind of small to comment on. Not sure about the cut off branch in the LLC. I think it would be better if the whole branch was included if possible (or cropping it out entirely).

Welcome to NPN and flora Julene. Very interesting looking foliage. Overall this works well for me. I do wish that those branches in the bottom left were not there.

Welcome to the floral gallery. What an unusual plant trio to showcase (and I like the repost omposition). The stages from wide to narrow and shades of green really give this a three dimensional feel. We have a ground cover in our forests that is called a tree fern but it has a competely different look.

Julene, I like the repost much better. It's very hard to tell without a larger version, but it looks to me that even more sharpening and maybe more contrast would improve the image. I don't know what editing software you use, but the image as you reposted is most definitely worth working with.

A fine job on the repost, Julene - and a really interesting subject. The tones in the repost look good to me. Look forward to seeing more from you.

Welcome to the Flora Gallery Julene.

I think you already received good advice and for my tastes the repost is a stronger image. I like the triangular composition in this, the textures and the color palette. I don't really have any additional suggestions.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts.

Juliene: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. I've been out of town so please accept my apology for being so tardy to comment. I think your repost is significantly stronger and just superb. I edited your title to reflect the repost. You can do that yourself when you post the rework so that folks will know to revisit and look for the changes. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.=))>

Julene, I love the graphic forms of these flowers. I think a slightly closer composition would have accentuated that form and allowed you to frame without the distracting elements of the brown twigs... oops, just saw the repost.... perfect!
