Sunset from Monitor Pass

It had been raining all day from our summer monsoon weather and we were lucky to get some nice breaks for colorful sunsets. I'd just finished a nice dinner with friends when we made our way up Monitor pass in time to catch the action. One could spend a lifetime exploring all the Sierra has to offer and still not experience it all...but I'm trying! :)

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Comments and critiques welcome.

Jean,

And what a great experience it is to try.. Great scene...lovely colors in the sunset sky. Just a tad to bright in the orangish yellow clouds, but I have problem controlling that as well. The larger image is brighter over all but doesn't have the depth of color. Maybe somewhere in the middle. The small image has the larger image beat in color intensity.

WOW, lots of color Jean, maybe even "electric" but sometimes thats the way it is. Lots of locations on Monitor Pass with wide open views towards the west and great sunsets, well done.

Great clouds. It is looking a bit saturated to my eye, but you captured a great sky in this one.

Jean,

A grand view and wonderful sky to be sure. I would agree with Harley that this appears slightly over saturated in the sky - at least on my monitor.
