I know that some may not appreciate motion blurs. However, it was a cloudy day on my next to last day in Alaska and not the kind of light I was wanting for landscapes. So, I just had to try this.

Nikon D700
24-70mm at 55mm
ISO 200
F9
1.6 seconds
Three stop ND.

Tom, for me I enjoy a good motion blur now and then. Even done it on film.... ;-) This one is pretty pleasing with great color;it's vibrant and it pops with the nice contrast with the white trunks. The only small nit I have is the discontinuity of color between the red and yellow; where the red stops and yellow starts. Not sure how to explain it, but it's like the flow of the motion is being stopped and started - if that makes sense. Certainly a personal observation and with this type of photography it's all relative anyway. Overall I think this one is quite successful.

Timing isn't good though since I just popped in and just now moved an image to Man & Nature; so I will also be moving yours to Photo Art. Although we try our best to be consistent, it's not always that easy, but generally speaking motion blurs are a better fit in Photo Art. Hope you understand and if you have any questions don't hesitate to drop one of the mods a note. Thanks!

Lon

Tom, I like motion blurs, especially when they accentuate some element of the original. In this case, two elements, the white trunks of the trees and the bright colors of the bushes both sort of compete and my eye goes back and forth...each would make a great motion blur but, to me, they fight a bit in the same image

I like motion blurs, and this works for me. I have no suggestions
for changes or ways to improve. Well done, Tom

Ha!, its a good thing Lon moved it cause otherwise i might have missed it! Thanks for the title, i'm honored to have my name attached to this fine image, and i have nothing at all against motion blurs--my peeve is directed at photos that duplicate the same technique over and over again until it all looks the same. This looks pretty original to me, but i could be wrong. Anyhow, i really like it, a moose might have put it over the top, but the colors are great here and its a nice balanced comp. :wavey:

Pretty cool looking, Tom. I think it works quite well for a motion blur. Nick
