Comes to the pool about twice a day but about the fastest moving bird I,ve ever known. Afternoon today 4.0 pm.
D7000 Sigma 100-300
ISO 800
125th @f8 Camera ev down one stop. Contrast down 1 bar.
HDI lighting high. 80% of full frame
White balance auto 2 (warm)
Levels /Histogram Paint Shop Pro
Sharpen CZM
Have a look at the biggie. No in camera sharpening.
Cheers

that's an amazing shot John. It's so difficult to get a nice pose from one of these and even more difficult to get a sharp one too! Very well done.

Thanks Matt
I must admit I,m a bit chuffed !
Its the D7000 thats helped though! The difference when using a small image subject compared to the D200 is amazing .
Cheers

Cracking shot John, love the pose, sharp as a sharp thing considering the shutter speed and subject too. :toast:

I echo David's comment. I don't recall seeing a better goldcrest shot than this. You deserve to feel a bit chuffed. Very, very nice.

An absolute cracker. I have never managed to get one sharp so it can be done.
