I love the pose, sharpness, cropping. Very well done.
It does, at least on my laptop, appear to have a slight cyan cast.

Awesome detail Verdon. I like those big shiny eyes. The bokeh is fantastic as well. My only small nit is that tehre seems to be a slight color cast as Bruce already pointed out. That is an easy fix though.

The point of view is excellent here Verdon. I like the bokeh as well. His antlers are still in prime condition, not all beat up which tends to be the case later in the rut. The framing here really emphasizes the antlers as the main feature, kind of makes sense.

Hi Verdon,
I like the open mouth and the almost "wild" eyes on this one. Detail on the subject looks really good at this size. I did notice the "dark blotch" in the upper right region of the background and it distracted me a tad, but not a lot. While I like the image as posted I'm left wondering if a vertical capture/presentation would have been a more optimal choice here - I'm thinking I'd like to see a little more of the elk's chest and upper legs...
Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Love the pose and details here...additional to the cyan cast there seems to be a lot of magenta coming through too?
I might chop some off the top

Wonderful shot Verdon, excellent choice for DOF; brilliant focus level from the tip of the nose all the way back to the marvelous antlers!
