A Highland Wonderland
by Robert Beideman
A recent trip with some close friends to Iceland was met with 6.5 days of rain, sleet, hail, and snow. These things happen... And it made for some interesting days...including this particular morning when the sun finally broke through for a sunrise...on our last day.
This place...one that I've been trying to find for each of the last three years...has more waterfalls than any single place that I've ever seen in my lifetime...it's really magic.
Early morning light on our last attempt shooting this place allowed the combination of an overnight dusting of snow, these waterfalls (we counted almost 40 of them), 35mph winds, and the eerie blue glow of the glacier meltwater to finally come together.
A single exposure at 80mm...

so well together. The detail througout looks good to me, and I like
the way that you composed with the stream bending.
the flow of the water gives a special taste to the scene
This is just absolutely beautiful! The composition flows so well and keeps my eye engaged throughout the entire frame. I also love the color contrasts between the orange-yellow sky and the cyan-blue water. The waterfall action in the mid-ground ties it all together so well. I would be proud to call this one of my own.
