Say's Phoebe

While driving around the San Jacinto Wildlife Area, we started to turn onto a new (to us) around a duck pond. Then this Phoebe landed on the sign post right next to us. We stayed there about ten minutes while it entertained us by hawking insects and returning to the post. This image taken from the passenger side across to the driver side window, Handheld. Would have liked a better perch but this was still great to capture some close images.

Cropped for composition.

Comments and suggestions always appreciated.

This is real nice! It looks like the real thing; not a picture. I would probably try to darken the perch a little. Top notch image of this phoebe! Congrats! Sharon

I like the head turn and catch light. Nice view of those claws. I think a little bump in the contrast and maybe another round of sharpening would add to an already nice image. .

Nice Phoebe -- Since the bird is looking to the right, I would crop some off the left to take him off center -- then he would be looking into more of the picture
