Trail of Hunger

The UAE's weather nowadays is very fogy and we tend to enjoy car accidents. The latest reports states in one accident 38 cars has been smashed one go. Awesome isn't it?!

In addition to accidents the fogy weather offers, it is cool to capture desert photographs from high peaks. So I set my alarm on at 4:30am to get up yesterday and made sure I am wearing my work clothes on to head to work afterwards. I headed down with follow photographer Abdullaziz Bin Ali to Al Fayyah in Sharjah, UAE known for its enormous sand dune in attempt to capture the fog from above in a wadi.

Unfortunately after arriving to the destination, the fog wasn't dense enough and turned out to be a disappointment. Couldn't capture the image I had in mind though I was lucky enough to find another subject that interested me enough to shoot. On the sand dune I have found a beautiful trail of a fox foot prints. It was a trail of hungry fox hunting for a meal the night before. Therefore, I named my image the "Trail of Hunger" or you might fancy "Whats for dinner?"

Hope you like it, enjoy.

Technical Details
I had to blend 6 images controlling exposure at various points of the image to get what i am looking at. The shot was taken with a Canon 5DMKII 16-35 F2.8 II.

Love the various textures throughout the image, Abdulla. The fox tracks are a great addition. Personally I prefer a little off the top, more of a 4x5 format.

This is wonderful! Great color and texture, and a very nice composition. A little off the top (3-5%) wouldn't hurt, but otherwise an excellent capture.

Aesthetically and technically very convincing. The trail looks great. Although it disturbs the nice ripples, they do not feel misplaced but belonging to the scene.

The light is sweet on the sand. and it really accents the ripples. The tracks add interest. I do think I agree with taking just a little off the top. Fine image.

I like this very much, Abdulla Bin! Great color and I like the concept that
the footprints suggest as indicated in your title. Composing this with
diagonal lines in the sand is the way to go for me. Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful scene with tough lighting. The tracks make this so much better. My only thought, if it was an option, would be to move slightly so the sun was placed more to the right and the tracks formed a stronger diagonal (or to crop it to a vertical pano removing some of the right).
