I really like the light and action you captured here Ken. I also like the clean look of this.

It is the great lighting on this that makes the shot stand out. I like the way he appears to be cantering as well.

Really nice, sharp shot Ken. To my eye the image could use a bit of a ccw rotation to straighten the horizon, everything else about the shot is spot on though. Great job.

Thanks everybody for your kind and encouraging comments. We had so many fine sightings of Kudu in Hwange it was remarkable.
Guy,
Hard to say about the horizon as there is a natural slope down the waterhole area, but I see what you mean.

I still say this is the best kudu shot I've seen since I've started taking photography seriously...

Great light, super cool subject in motion. The lifted leg puts this one over the edge for me. Sweet One Ken

Morkel,
Thanks a lot, I think it is probably the best image I have ever taken of a Kudu.

Hi Ken,
I find the warm light very appealing and the subject is nicely isolated from the background. To me the pose you have frozen doesn't say "running" nearly as much as it says "rearing up" - this is in no way a flaw but just an expression of what I thought when I first looked at the image (and before reading the commentary associated with the image).
Cheers...

Interesting pose with beautiful colors and lighting, well done. Agree about the cw rotation.
