Bat Banding

As part of their education programs the Sugar Grove Nature Center presents varied classes on nature subjects, including bats. As part of this program bats are netted and banded by a state wildlife biologist. The captured bats were held for a few minutes after banding before they were released.

I selected my S2 since at the time it was the only camera I had with an LCD, which allowed me to focus and compose the shots with very little light.

Canon PowerShot S2 IS
1/60 @ F-8 ISO 200
15mm, built in flash.

Very interesting photo. When I think of banding I usually just think of birds. Those look like some very sharp little teeth!
Congratulations on the Editors Pick!
