Creux Du Vans
by R.Bill Moser
This is another shot from last summer. This shot is taken at Creux Du Vans in the western part of switzerland. Creux Du Vans is often called the "Grand Canyon of switzerland". It's a natural limestone amphitheatre-shaped attraction in the Val de Travers district, in the canton of Neuchâtel and is approximately 1,400 metres of width and 150 metres of depth.
This shot was taken at sundown........usually you get the best light early morning when the sun rises and the limestone turns golden from the morning sun. I tried a different approach here and i like the drama in the sky.
Techs:Nikon D700, 16-35mm lens (@22mm), ISO 200, f 13, 1/6 sec, polarizer
Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

It was nice meeting you at the stellisee! Finally I manage to see you on NPN.
About the picture: to me this is a new perspective on Switzerland landscape. I must say that it reminds me of similar formations that we have in Sicily. Although the scale here is not that of the Grand Canyon, the massive wall is a nice anchor point in the picture. For sure, the drama in the sky helps a lot in creating a great mood in the overall image.
