I look out on this windswept land, denuded hills and let this clarity seep into my cluttered self....simplifying, magnifying, unburdened in this thin air. The colors whirl and shift around me, as light and form shimmer and dance, above the deep still waters.

Here, I tried to communicate the sense of space, clarity and calm that was my experience here, during a 3 1/2 week trek between 4,000 and 5,600 meters on the Chagthgang Plateau, with only myself, my (non-English-speaking) Ladakhi guide, one ponyman, 6 ponies and a foal.

You communicated your goals very well. The soft colors are super and the line created by the cloud reflections guide my eye through the image. Well done.

That is really special light, Hillary. The high horizon creates a very dynamic landscape.

Excellent composition. I like how there is just a bit of vegetation visible to ground the photo, and the soft color mixed with the lighting contrast is very attractive.

THIS IS REALLY GREAT!
I love it. Excellent sky and wonderful light on the dunes. Nice reflection and I like a lot the grass in the water.

Nice composition and light on the distant mountains. My only nit is the mountains and sky being a bit dark compared to the reflection, looks like a 2 stop grad would have been more appropriate.

Incredible light and awesome reflection of a place rarely seen Hillary. You might consider selectively darkening the hottest spots on the right side of the reflection. Tremendous work.

Zack and Michael - yes, I agree with the need to darken the reflections a touch - thank you so much for the constructive suggestions :~)

Terrific image. I like the flow from the front to the distance and the great lighting. I'm also attracted to the apparent softness of the distant mountains due to the color palette.

I think this is super cool! The colors and textures are superb! I think it would be much more powerful cropped to a pano. The bottom 1/4 is not adding anything to the image IMO. Consider cropping it right below the reflected pink cloud, and you have yourself fabulous pano.
