Shot just before sunrise looking out from the Crater Lake area. I thought a pano crop worked well with this image. Processing was mainly contrast and dodging layers some. 5DII, 200mm f/16 ISO 320. Larger version included. Thanks for looking.

One more quick edit, as the uploaded version appeared a little dark... lightened it a little, increased contrast, and took down the blues and magenta some.

The layering prety amazing - the yellow sky and blues threw me a little - the sun rising behind these mnts? The fog and haze adds some mystery, as do the blues. I agree about the pano format.

Thanks, Harry. The sun was rising to the right of the frame, this was about 15 min before sunrise.

This is amazing  The layers, fog and color contrast between the blues and yellow orange is intriguing. Nice Pano ! A unique find from Crater Lake.

Gorgeous, Chris. I actually preferred the darkness of your first post, but agree with you other changes. My eye bounces back an forth in the frame. I like the pano crop, too!

The light and contrast of cold blue hills to warm sky is so striking here....I love the upper right clouds where the warm light touches them. The tonal layers of hills and mist/low cloud here are very beautiful.

Many compliments Chris. One of the best photo that I have seen lately. Both beautiful, the second even better.
Take care.

Splendid! It reminds me of a Japanese painting, or print... Personally, I prefer the first, darker version, which has more mistery and character.

Terrific collection of layers and pastel colors. It's a great minimalist interpretation with the bits of fog. Spectacular! I can't see much difference on my calibrated monitor.

Great image. I tend to like the first image better. I really like the image. One reason I like this is because it is a layer image from some place else then the Smokies. The image itself is great.

Beautiful layers and I don't think that I've seen orange and blue go better together.

Beautiful! Love the layers, colors. Personally I had no problem with the first version. I would prefer a bit more sharpening, though.

The layers amazing and the pano composition works very well. I also like the colors. What bothers me a wee bit is the transition between land and sky - it seems that there is some outlining in the mountains. Maybe the sharpening or contrast boost was a bit much?

Beautiful panoramic image Chris. I really like the blues and golds here. The rolling fog really gives this one that extra boost which takes it to a higher level. Well done.
