Would like to know what you all think of this one. This was taken a couple of days back on the way to work in the morning. It was pretty cold and visibility was low too .. thanks for your critique as always.

Gorgeous scene Soubhik. Beautiful mix of autumn color and winter white.

Snowing here in southern NH tonight. Hopefully I can get out and capture some autumn/winter images tomorrow. I can't remember when it has snowed this early in southern NH/New England though. Feels like another bad winter to come for us out east. Power and internet keep flaking out.

The control of whites is excellent. However, it the subject is a "foggy morning", then all the bright in focus parts in front of the foggy morning are over balancing the subject, it seems to me.

I agree...Autumn and Winter makes for wonderful photography. I really like the pond with the ducks / geese in all the snow!

Eva - last week in Northern Colorado we had quite a bit of snow , looks like it will be a long and cold winter here this year too ..

Phil - Initially I didn't do a focus stack but the out of focus leaves at the front were more distracting IMHO.

Very nice fall/winter image Soubhik. I like the comp and the ducks on the pond really add a nice point of interest to the image.

Hmmm, i love the idea here and you certainly had great conditions and a nice subject, but i think there are some issues
I think a focus stack here could work, but then i think all the fg should be in focus, but the lower cluster is blurry here. I also think the upper leaf intruding in the center is distracting. There seems to be a bit of a halo or something around the leaves, i guess a result of the stack. Given all the technical difficulties here, personally i think this would have worked better with just the bg--which is my favorite part here anyways, the birds are awesome and are strong enough to make the shot; the fg stuff just isnt necessary IMO. In that respect I agree with Phil. :wavey:

Stan is always so good at finding the flaws, and he is right on the spot with what he said, I think. I do, however, love the comp and concept here, Soubhik. Especially the introduction of the color in the mostly monotone image. I like it, and it just needs a bit more work.

I think this is a great and novel visual with the contrast between the aspen leaves and the snow & fog. Part of me would like to not see that last clump of leaves at the top, but another part thinks that it may be the key to pulling the whole picture together.....the more I look, the more I think the second thought is best.
