I posted the original of this image in June 2009 after returning from a trip to Cuba.

The sharply pointed perch that this cute little yellow-faced grassquit used seemed so inappropriate that decided to make a photo art image that emphasized the contrast between the bird and its surroundings. Using a variety of filters in Eye Candy 6 I ended up with the cold, grey image that you see above.

I like the rainy cold grey look that you created. Maybe a few rain streaks on the bird? Very cool look!

Thank you Chris, Denise and Barbara for your comments. I certainly appreciate them. Denise, in answer to your suggestion regarding rain streaks on the bird. I considered it but in the end decided to leave the impression as "possible rain in the distance". Also, part of my thinking was that when a bird gets wet the feathers often clump together. So, obtaining a realistic result here is probably beyond my capabilities. Fine suggestion though!
