Sorry I haven't been around much, life has been very busy this year. I was able to get out for nearly 2 weeks in the desert SW. I met up with my good friend and fellow Photo Cascadia member Sean Bagshaw. We camped out for 3 days at this remote location. We weathered a storm and some extreme low temperatures, saw my first tarantula in the wild, and in the process ended up having a fantastic time. Good times Sean! We also ran into Mark Metternich out here briefly, It was nice to finally meet in person.

My multiple exposure blending/advanced selection video was delayed while I was taking care of my wife who suffered severe pregnancy sickness in her first trimester. She's feeling much better now and I'll be finally finishing the video as soon as I can. Our second child is going to be a boy

Cheers

Great leading lines into the image and I'm really digging' the rich colors in the sandstone. That bright spot where the sand is nestled in the rock provides a nice focal point.

This is sweet! Love the color and lines. I'm sure it is an illusion, but it feels like it has a ccw tilt.

It is an illusion, but I'll probably fix it anyway. Cheers.

Just commented about this shot on FB Zack. As I mentioned there, I think this shot is stellar in every way. The light, shapes, textures, leading lines, and depth are all fantastic. One of your best IMO! :toast: :toast: :toast:

Really nice. Reminds of a Marc Adamus shot with the same title.
That landscape is wicked and you got some awesome clouds too. Nice work.

Crap, Shawn you're right about the name. Sorry Marc, just the name that slipped in my head when I was working on this. I fixed the name.

What marvelous light and lines! Just fantastic. If it were mine, I'd consider cropping the sky, to make it a pure abstract, perhaps worth considering as an additional/alternate comp?

Wow, this is an amazing image, Zack. Love the range and strength of the colors. The strong leading fg rock lines are sensational. The color division of the sky is a little unusual, but I do like the continuing line of your comp right thru the image.

Very dramatic--super strong colors but w/in bounds for me. The lines dont get any better--sweet! Please stop by more often, especially this Winter, i need someone to inspire me to get off my butt and head out into the snowdrifts

This is super Zack! Love everything about it from top to bottom. From someone that loves abstracts I can see what Floris is saying but even then I would keep it as shown. Perfectly processed as usual. :toast:

Look forward to hanging out again in December, feels like it's been too long.
