White Pelican

I was trying to setup on an Osprey at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary when it took off. Oh well. Then four White Pelicans came across right in front of me. It was less than an hour after sunrise and I had pretty good light. These birds swim so majestically.

Skip, I like the muted reflection & the warm light you captured on this pelican. Nice job!

I would like to see a catchlight on a bird this size -- and surprise me -- I don't expect to see a white pelican on the desert.

Skip, I too like the light and you took full advantage of it. Nice slight head turn and I like the reflection and your composition. The catch light is quite apparent in the larger version.

Wonderful contrast with the light and reflection, I might be inclined to take a little off the top but a fine shot as is, way to go.

Hey Skip,
Beautiful color tones and terrific light. Makes you never want to shoot again in mid day. Love the rippled water reflection and the slight head turn. Way to go. See you around.
