Took this shot while taking Eagle pics the other day. Noticed a female Northern Flicker near me feeding, so I went for a little low ground crawl!

Nikon D7000, 500mm F4 + 1.4x tc
ISO 400, F5.6, 1/1600ss, handheld on ground

Very nice image quality and very natural look to the colors, bird, and setting.

Eric,
Very nice low angle look to this image. Great colors and a nice catch light in the eye.

Eric, I don't recall seeing many flickers on the ground posted and this one looks very good. Nicely composed and colors look good. I do miss seeing the legs but the other qualities of the photo more than make up for that.

Very nice detail and light on this Flicker and a different perspective than we are used to. I like this a lot. Well done. :toast:

Great exposure control in the full sunlight Eric, nice detail/DOF & colors too.
Excellent use of the F/5.6 and I especially like your ground level POV.
Well done & have a great weekend :toast:
