Came across a small band of bull elk near the visitors center on Trail Ridge Road. Lighting was near noon, but couldn't pass up the photo op. It is a little tight on the bottom, cropped out another elks' back.

Hi John, I love the blue/green/yellow color palette here! The fact that the animal is almost entirely clear from the ground and has only blueish sky as a backdrop is very engaging and certainly not easy to pass up on in any light. I do wish you had a bit more room at the bottom to give that hoof some space. It would also have included some more of those lovely flowers.

Vincent, your comment made me wonder why I didn't choose to clone out the other elks back instead of cropping so tight on the bottom. So, I did and have added as a re-post. Thanks for your comment.

Much prefer the re-post John! The colours in this frame are marvelous and though the shadows might not be the most favourable with the sun so high in the sky, it really doesn't spoil my enjoyment while appreciating this image. Very nice picture and thanks for sharing!
