Lucky Ned Pepper

In "True Grit", Rooster Cogburn says that he once shot off Lucky Ned Pepper's lip one day on Winding Stair Mountain. That's where this shot was taken last Friday in Oklahoma. I was blessed with fog for this, probably my 20th trip to the place.

This shooting was for an upcoming porfolio of my Oklahoma work in the January issue of "Oklahoma Today" magazine.

Go OSU Cowboys!

I like the contrast between the vibrant color and the moodiness of the fog. Your composition here is outstanding and the foggy conditions combined with the vivid reds really make the foreground stand out from the background. It's neat to see great shots from areas that are not often thought to be landscape hotspots.

The fog works wonders for creating a quiet mood. What a perfect tree for this.

I never tire of good fog shots and this is certainly one. Nice job bringing the reds out for a little more pop.

Stunning image. The red leaves seem to be floating in that fog. Superbly done.

I love the intensity of the reds, especially against the foggy BG. Nicely done.

Gorgeous Michael! Love the elements here as the fog seems to intensify the autumn colors.

Good to see a post from you and I loved the True Grit reference - One of my all time favorite movies! You don't drink water from hoof prints in OK do you?
