Hey Ken,

I really like the lighting, colour, and depth of field here (nice soft background...). I like the large tree in the BG I also like your choice of a near-pano crop - works well (at least to me) with the horizontal line formed by the subjects. In a perfect world it would have be nice if the Eland that's lying down not there (or at least with its head not obscured by the butt of the other one!), but we all know this was something totally out of your control. Really wish they were running though...(totally kidding).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Awesome light! And I like the inclusion of the tree!!! I must admit that I am quite envious of this Ken; it is indeed not easy to find eland this relaxed!? Another reason to go to Zim soon.

Ken, very nice. I also like your crop of this image. The eland are all nice and sharp, with enough BG to set the habitat of these guys. Are these the giant eland? The bull looks very big. TFS

The great light on the Elend and the over all pastel looking scene is a pleasure to view, I especially like the large version.

A beautiful animal-scape Ken

"...not something you see everday Eland that do not run away."

You're right about that, Ken. Nice to see the bull mixed in with the females. He really does look huge. The tree on the left is a minor distraction, but I really like the way the main tree on the right completes the landscape.

Thanks very much for your kind comments and suggestions.

I did ponder on the tree on the LHS and actually did a version with it "magically absent"

For anybody intending to visit the Mana Pools area of Zimbabwe I can thoroughly recommend Chikwenya, it is a remarkable area for wildlife (not just Eland) The lodge itself is probably the finest I have ever stayed in and by Botswanan standards remarkably cheap for what you get, a great place for home comforts if you are on a long trip.
