A visit to the dentist..

... is what seems to be called for. Getting close to lions is all very well, but as my tour leader said, how do you convey the halitosis with a camera?

Lions don't normally do much, at least when I am around, so this yawn was the height of my lion action.

Thanks for looking.

By the looks of that upper right canine, she really does need the dentist!
Great capture David, they do look deceptively docile in the wild, that is, until they feel hungry.
Best wishes

Thanks, Phil. Despite what I put above, the previous time we were in Africa one started to stalk us. It is amazing how much bigger and fiercer they look then!

I'll only ever see one behind bars and even they look scary ! :frown:
Good stuff.

Hi David,

I'd maybe like a little more space around the subject, but this certainly places the focus on the teeth! :wavey:

A considerable set of gnashers! I would have actually zoomed in/cropped in a touch closer (as the background doesn't add much) and really focus on that mouth.

Hello David.

Nice capture and the title suits the image really well that canine doesn't look to healthy.

:wavey: Lions exciting to see, boring to watch! I like this and love the detail in the mouth, think Simon's idea on the crop would be worth a try. But as it is I still like it a lot :toast: :toast: :toast:

A fine portrait of a street-wise character. I think a closer crop would be good too. Best focus appears to be further back than the teeth?
