The upper half of an adult King Penguin back, from a distance of about 5 meters. Consciously modeled after the cover of Bill Coster's Creative Bird Photography.

Cropped by about 15%. Slight sharpening.

Hi Jim, I like your entry into the weekly challenge.

I find my myself wishing that the beak in particular was in focus.

Like the DOF in the background as well as the idea.

I have shots with the bill in focus, Carol, but then the background is very distracting. It's a cluster of molting King Penguins standing in a pool of water. So I decided to go with the bill a bit soft...

Cool, a colored version of many state and federal capitol building domes! I like the "speckled" feathers leading up to the orange eyeballs.
