It's been an amazing workshop season. I started in Leavenworth, WA, just returned from back to back workshops in Zion National Park, and I'm off to the Eastern Sierra in a few days. Teaching is my favorite aspect of this business!

Here's my first image from Zion. I've been searching for a compelling pool of plant oils for quite some time. I was thrilled to come across this scene. I hope you enjoy!

Great rainbow of colors. I found similar colors near the Virgin this fall, haven't gotten it off the card yet. The patterns and colors look as though paint has been plattered on a canvas. Nice find and glad to hear the workshops are going well. The Sierra should be great this time of the year.

Hi Justin,

I actually caught this one last night on your website. I hope all is well. My first thought is that you could reduce the brightness of the foreground a little - it seems to catch my eye. Anyways, the colors are great and the scene is well balanced. I am really looking forward to seeing your shots of Iceland whenever you get a chance to process. You must be racking up the frequent flyer miles. I hope your travels are safe and fruitful. Take it easy and hope to talk to you soon...

Michael

This is a fascinating abstract to me, Justin. Lots of areas of interest, I just keep exploring all the textures and details. Your processing is spot on to my eye. Thanks for sharing.

Michael - Great critique! Here's an updated version with reduced brightness in the foreground:

I like the iridescent colors that the oils create and all the scattered bits of color.
