I've just been going through my old files and came across a number of images taken at a Seal colony in Norfolk in September, 09.

I took me about an hour to slowly crawl in towards the seals, on my belly, pushing the 500 and the tripod in front of me.

I'd completely forgotten about the images I captured that day !

1D MKIII, 500 f4 @ f5.6, +.67, iso400

P.S., This was my fav from the session, but there's another that made me smile on my website blog page if you care to have a look...

an unusual image Graham, certainly a bit different and the composition works well. It took me a while to work out that I was looking at the top of the seal's head.

Great picture Graham, very unusual pose and great low POV. The one on your blog is great as well. :toast:

Nice shot.

A different composition to the usual seal shot, but it works well, especially in the larger version.

I was fooled too  . Not too sure about the composition though - maybe lose the pale area on the top?

Hi Graham,

I'm not sure about this one if I'm honest, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It may be the strange position of the seal's head, or that it appears quite centrally in the frame. Sorry, not very constructive! Technically, the exposure, sharpness etc are spot on. I much prefer the 'Pardon Me' shot on your blog.

Thanks for comments all. I thought this might be one if those marmite images but in trying to think outside the box, I thought I'd post it to gauge reaction. :wavey:
