First Sunset in Oregon/W Edit

Well, at the Oregon Coast anyway. Had a very nice trip to Oregon with my wife. While not a photography only trip, I had some nice opportunities. This is the southern coast just south of Gold Beach on the first night of the trip. One of the coolest things about the Oregon beaches was how flat/shallow they are, and the ripples. Oh, and the seemingly late color almost every night. I'd love to hear your thoughts, thanks!

This is really nice Chris. The light and mood is especially nice, and then the color and reflection are wonderful. Great comp too! A beautiful sunset for your first night out! Nice work!

The light is very beautiful in its warmth and softness. I like the ripples too. Sky maybe feels a tad dark relative to the rest of the scene.

What a glorious shot. I love these warm and rich tones and the leading ripple lines...the reflected light is a real treat.

Beautiful shot Chris. The ripples in the sand work really well with those striated clouds. Nice work.

Very pretty Chris. Really exudes peace and tranquility. I really like the ripples on the right FG too. Agree with Tony on the sky though.

I kinda had the same feelings about the darkness of the sky mainly. So, here's a brightened up version with a little more contrast. The adjustment was made global, but more so in the sky. Thanks

Wonderful color and light and those ripples in the FG work very nicely in your composition, Chris. The slightly brightened second post nails it in my opinion.

I love the ripples in the sand and water. I actually don't mind the darkness of the image, I find it somewhat soothing and relaxing with the warm tones. Can't wait to explore the coast.
