This images of the Cattle Egret was taken at the High Island Rookery Texas in May 2011. I've seen these birds in the field hovering around the cattle, but have never studies them up close. They have very striking colors and I found them quite lovely. All comments welcomed.

I've never seen one perched up like this, and I agree, they do have some marvelous colors which you've captured very nicely. Is that a wall behind the greenery? Great exposure on the whites. Sharon

Dottie, I like the greenery in the setting against which the bird stands out so well. The tough exposure looks pretty good, I like the view of the grasping feet and your comp works well for me.

Hey, Dottie. Welcome back. Nice image with lovely representation of the breeding plumage for this bird. Good eye contact and light reflex. I might ease out the crop just a bit.

Has a very nice Audubonesque feel to it. I like it, wouldn't change a thing.

Nice, nice, nice. Only improvement might have been if the foliage was denser behind all of the egret.
