Post sunset Owl

I was out and set up for sunset landscapes tonight, but packed it up after the sun went down without much color. I headed for home, and a few minutes later, the sky literally exploded with color, super saturating the cloud bank. I happened to be passing by this tree, which regularly holds Great-horned Owls, and luckily there was one there tonight. The owl never gave me a perfect profile shot. C&C always welcome and appreciated. 7D, ISO 1600, f/8, 1/250, ~50% crop

That's quite an afterglow! In this, even though the bird is in the lower third, I might try a different comp, but understand you wanted to leave in the tree on the left. Gorgeous color! Sharon

I like this a lot Rob. I think the profile you got from the owl is just fine, the colors and cloud patterns in the background are great and your comp works fine for me. Very considerate of the owl to perch where it did rather than being buried in the tree.

Color is amazing here. Must have been something in the atmosphere. Lots of good sunsets this week.

Totally amazing Rob. Nice of the owl to perch in such a strategic spot.
