Clashach Cove, Hopeman, Moray, Scotland

A beautiful array of colored stones made smooth by the power of the ocean. Taken on 1-2-1 workshop with Ian Cameron.

Thanks for having a look. Appreciate your comments and critiques.

I like the texture and grain. An interesting comp could be had (if it were available) with a more balanced juxtaposition of the rounded stones and the underlying rock. As is, to me, the large bedrock commands the image more than the stones.

Eva,

I love this and would like to see more of this from you! This is beautifully designed; I really like the balance and spacing of the separated stones - just the balance and composition in general is wonderful. The subtle color works for the conditions you faced. This is just excellent. Not that I don't like your seascapes, but it's nice to see something a little more intimate.

The only suggestion I have would be to bring down the highlights a little. Nothing overexposed or anything close to that, but a drop in the brighter values to perhaps bring out a little more richness in color. But no biggie and of course a personal judgement.

Excellent presentation, great subject! I wonder if you have a vertical that gives more a sense of depth. I keep wanting to see more of the background stones! :toast:

Nice intimate shot - love the subtle textures and colors. There is a bit too much space on the left for me, a tighter crop on the right makes for a more interesting shot. Crop to a vertical, right half? You may have this as an alternate comp. Beauty of a find.

This is very, very nice. The shapes and textures are outstanding, the work of erosional forces is evident, this image has a sense of being timeless but is still very concrete and immediate. I like this a lot

Very nice Eva, comp works really well for me with the lone stones filling in the empty spaces nicely. Great sharpness throughout.

Really like the shapes, textures, and colors. Could see maybe pulling down the highlights a bit to make the colors more rich.

Hopeman stones are the best Eva. Love the combination of oranges reds and blues from reflected skylight and the composition is beautifully and naturally ordered to look as found.

A lovely abstract, Eva! Many interesting shapes and colors in
the rocks, plus I like the diagonal lines in the BG rock.

Very well presented as always, techs look great. I'm not totally sold on the balance here--most of the interest for me is in the urhc. Just my take... :wavey:

I really like the wavy line of grain in the underlying rock, leading me to the stones, the textures and wonderfully tactile feel of this image...and the warm, rich colors, which could benefit from Lon's suggestion...
