Court of the Patriarchs

It was raining and a bit breezy. The sun was peeking through highlighting the peaks here and there and I thought the only way I could really capture it all was with a pano. There is some softness in some trees and bushes both from the wind and subsequent blending. This was a difficult stitch for me as I'm still developing these skills and needed to use Puppet Warp in Photoshop to try and compensate for some distortion of the peaks.

Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

I like the 'peek-a-boo' peaks, beautiful light. the branch/partial tree on the rhs is a little distracting. Other than that, a very nice image

Jean,

This is a wonderful panoramic. Great choice as the subject lends itself perfectly for the format. Awesome sky and dramatic light strategically placed in the landscape. Love this.

I think Nancy Lea meant the LHS, but I was going to mention the same thing. If it were me, I would opt to crop/clone the tree branches on the left. I expect you didn't want to cut in to the dramatic light, but IMHO, the tree pretty much takes away from that light anyway.

Beautiful.

Nancy and Lon, thanks so much for the great feedback! I totally agree on the branch and just went back to clone it out. It's those little details I still get hung up on, so thanks for the critique1

The light on the peaks in the large version is just stunning. Ditto on the branch on the left. It just distracts from that magical light.

Looks like some pretty amazing light captured at the peak of perfection, Jean. This makes for an amazing pano.

Fantastic Jean. I was going to recommend you clone out that tree on the left, then saw the version on 500px and no need to say it. =)

Thanks for the great comments and feedback everyone. I did post another version on Flickr and 500px without the branches, but still don't know how to do that here. :frown:

Wonderful, magical light. I agree about removing the tree, but anyway, a terrific image.
