Spotted this turtle crossing a dirt road inside a wildlife refuge. Got a couple of shots before it moved on. Like how its eyes looked peering out from under its shell.

The apparent displeasure on being found is kind of cute. Nice job on the exposure, particularly on the face. The highlights on the shell and straw (top left) look a little hot, but should be easy to tone down.

A lower angle might have had more impact, but looking at the grass in the foreground i think you made the right choice; A lower angle might have been difficult to pull off without scaring the turtle.

Very cool John  I really don't understand this does not have more comments as the concept, the shapes, textures and colors are truly appealing. I do agree with Anand that the grasses could be toned down as their brightness mainly makes them a little distracting. Ideally they would not be there at all (not that I suggest you clone them out)

Cool perspective. I wish the stem of grass on the left side was not present, because I think it pulls the eye away from the subtle and interesting textures of the wet moss on the shell.

Grass blade aside, this is a great shot - perspective, color, sharpness, intimate! Should have more comments and compliments! :toast:
