Eclipse Heron

I took this this morning during the lunar eclipse. We missed the best of the eclipse here in central Kansas, and this was taken just a few minutes before the moon set. Originally, there were 4 Great Blue Herons, but the rest spooked just before this was taken. I didn't even see the Bald Eagle in the background until I got home. The dark smudge just above the dike is a fog bank that eventually rolled in to the southwest. This is a 2 exposure blend, one focused on the heron, one focused on the moon, with appropriate exposure changes. I manually blended the images to get this result. 7D, ISO 400, f/8, 1/4s and 1/15s, 218 mm with small crop. C&C always welcome and appreciated. Does the color balance look right?

That's a cool shot, Rob. I really like the composition and the cool colors. The eagle is a bonus! I'm glad you got out to shoot the eclipse. I did too, and although I didn't get a shot as nice as this, it was neat to see the eclipse and a learning experience for me on shooting the moon. (I have so much to learn...)
