Lookout Light at Sunset

Cape Lookout Lighthouse & keepers quarters (now a visitors center) in silhouette. Taken 11/26/11. I chose to pull out just a bit of detail in the lighthouse with the distinct diamond pattern. The three major lighthouses along the North Carolina coast have different patterns to be able to recognize them from the water. Hatteras has the spiral pattern, Bodie Island has horizotonal stripes, and Lookout has the diamonds.

5DII, 24-105mm, 1.3 seconds, F11, ISO 160 - please view larger for more detail.

I am really enjoying your lighthouse series Wick. This one has a very tranquil mood with wonderful silhouettes and beautiful sunset colors.

Very nice, Wick. Wonderful mood with the sunset colors and moon. I like the bit of detail in the lighthouse just showing the pattern, that is a nice touch! :toast:
