Destiny of Decay

This is from the quieter side of Acadia National Park this past autumn. The weather and conditions were less than stellar for landscapes during my trip but I did manage a few keepers. I was particularly drawn to the contrast of this newly fallen big tooth aspen leaf against the darker, almost metallic sheen of the decaying oak leaves. As always thanks for looking and any comments you're willing to provide.

I like the contrasts Kurt and as you mentioned, the metallic sheen of the oak leaves is beautiful. I especially like the highlights on the viens

A real treat, Kurt! The contrast is indeed very powerful and along with the diagonals, set this one apart.

Very nice Kurt. I love thoose oak leaves! This would great even without the aspen, but the aspen does add that nice contrast.

Great combo of the popping green against the very metallic dark leaves. Excellent find and very well done.

This is a beauty. The green on black makes the green leaf jump right at the viewer.

Kurt,

This is outstanding! I love it. It's one thing to have a lone leaf standing out against some bg, but this bg is wonderful! I love the contrasts not only in color, but also in the story that's being told. Captured nicely with your title too. Love this one.
